Self Contained Fire Suppression
Fire suppression can seem to pose a complicated, expensive problem to the average business. With the cost and effort involved in installing the pipes needed for a sprinkler system of fire suppression, often combined with extensive remodeling and possibly rewiring, it’s not hard to see why business owners turn to Cease Fire’s pre-engineered self contained fire suppression systems as a way to eliminate the cost, mess, and hassle of installing sprinklers.
Since 1986, Cease Fire has continued to provide thousands of customers with their line of self contained dry chemical fire suppression systems, garnering the business of clients such as Honeywell, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), O’Hare International Airport, Navistar, LTV Steel, London Undergound, Chicago Transit Authority, and Intel and selling one million handheld portables and 25,000 automatic units. With this experience and their continuing commitment to improvement and innovation, Cease Fire has manufactured the fire suppression industry’s only truly modular, self contained fire suppression system.
This fire suppression system is the CFF-800. The CFF-800 is a pre-engineered self contained fire suppression unit which utilizes a dual agent dry chemical fire suppressant comprised of DuPont’s FE-227 gas combined with Cease Fire’s proprietary blend of ABC powder to create a powerful fire extinguishing agent. Each self contained fire suppression unit is capable of extinguishing fire in an area of 8’ by 8’ with 12’ ceilings. This is the equivalent of 768 cubic feet---and it can be extinguished in four to five seconds. The unit’s pre-engineering ensures that the exact amount of surfactant necessary is used--no more or less--making the fire suppression units extremely efficient and cost-effective.
Additionally, Cease Fire’s fire suppression units are capable of being used alone or networked together, depending on the size of the space to be protected. Each unit can be installed with a simple mounting flange---no invasive remodeling necessary---and be good to go! Maintenance and inspection are simple: a gauge at the bottom of the unit allows easy inspection and, if maintenance is necessary, the self contained unit can be easily unscrewed from the mounting flange and replaced by a new or repaired fire suppression unit. No wiring or pipes are needed to connect the self contained fire suppression units, making designing and installing the fire suppression system a simple matter.
As an added benefit, the dry chemical nature of the fire suppressing agent used in Cease Fire’s CFF-800 has many benefits. It suppresses fire without causing water or steam damage, unlike standard water-based fire suppression systems, which damage valuable computers, technology, records and paperwork that are invaluable to a business. It is non-toxic, both during discharge when the fire has been detected, and afterward, when post-fire clean-up occurs, which is excellent for protecting personnel and restoration workers. It is removed easily, with a simple vacuum of the powder residue left in the protected area. The dry chemical fire suppressant is proven to not pose danger of being corrosive, which protects that same valuable and vulnerable equipment. And, finally, DuPont’s FE-227 gas, unlike the Halon gas of previous dry chemical systems, is proven to not deplete the ozone layer, gaining the endorsement of the EPA for its earth friendly nature.
As a self contained fire suppression system, the CFF-800 is unbeatable. Its price, efficiency, ease of installation, maintenance, and repair make it an all-around desirable system for businesses looking for a safe, easy way to protect the valuables they cannot afford to lose.
